North Star’s new monthly supperclub

North Star Delicatessen is giving Manchester’s food lovers a new dining experience with a difference.

Take your popular supper club concept, combine it with the growing local food movement, invite the neighbourhood butcher and fishmonger, and you get a dinner with delicious local produce and local product knowledge.

The Supper Club will feature a mouth watering 3 course menu of seasonal gourmet food, prepared by North Star Delicatessen who have built a reputation for outstanding quality and customer service in Chorlton over the last eight years.

Chorlton butcher, Lee Frost from W. H. Frost Butchers is looking forward to showing our guests just how local their dinner can be. He believes the perfect rack of spring lamb can be created by sourcing some of the finest cuts of meat from Knutsford, Cheshire.

“We’re proud to be associated with North Star, who we’ve been supplying since they opened in 2003.  The Supper Club is an excellent way to showcase our shared values of local quality and great service.”

Also collaborating with North Star Delicatessen on the night is Dave Yarwood from Out of the Blue fishmongers. He says few Mancunians are aware of how far their seafood can travel to get to their plate.

“Why wouldn’t you want to eat the freshest fish possible compared to a product that has been snap frozen months ago?” he asks “We want to show diners how delicious locally sourced seafood can be.”

He plans to source his contribution to the Supper Club purely from British inshore fleets.

North Star Delicatessen hopes this Supper Club will bring food lovers together to enjoy the best that the North West has to offer. He hopes the Supper Club will showcase local food producers and support other independent retailers.

“We believe that by leading by example and hosting a local dinner, we can encourage others to step outside the major supermarket chains and into their local shops. What better way to start your weekend than with an exclusive supper in Chorlton?”, he adds.

Those who book Supper Club tickets before the 1st of July will receive an early bird treat of a complimentary after dinner coffee and petit fours.
